MESSAGE FROM THE
RACQUETS & WELLNESS CHAIR

Hello Bayview Members! Just a friendly reminder to cherish Bayview as our "Happy Place," where we can create wonderful memories with our family and friends. I recently watched the lead-up doubles matches for the tennis club championships, and it was heartwarming to see parents teaming up with their children, making lasting memories and fostering togetherness.

Pickleball is a fantastic activity for families and friends to enjoy together. It's popular in North America, and even my cousin from England, who had never heard of it, played with us over the Labor Day weekend and absolutely loved it. It's such an easy game to pick up and play, and not only are we including it in our junior programming, we are hoping to start a friendly round-robin on Sunday afternoons in October.

Remember, fitness and wellness are essential for our physical and mental well-being. I love seeing people of all ages working out in the gym and joining group fitness classes here at Bayview.

So, let's continue to make Bayview our “Happy Place” and relish our time here with our family and friends.

At Bayview Racquets, our mission is to provide social, instructional, and competitive opportunities for all our members. Our racquet family includes players of all levels, from advanced competitors to beginners. Our racquet team has developed programs that cater to both individuals and families, ensuring that everyone can enjoy and grow in both tennis and pickleball.

NEW FAMILY MEMBER

AHMAD SALEHZADEH:
As a family of four with two young daughters, joining Bayview Club in January 2024 has been a wonderful decision for us. We've quickly come to appreciate the wide range of benefits and activities the club offers, from social gatherings to sports.
Tennis has become the heart of our family's experience at Bayview. The outstanding support from both fellow members and the exceptional tennis staff—ranging from coaching to administration—has made our time here truly special.
We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome we've received and feel truly fortunate to be part of the Bayview family.

MILLENNIAL MIXER

GABY GOLDSHLAGER:
The Millennial Mixer event attracted participants aged 18-25 who enjoyed pickleball, tennis, and courtside nachos and drinks. It was a fantastic way for new members to meet others of similar age and socialize.

SATURDAY MIXED ROUND-ROBIN

ABDOLLAH BEHZADI:
I have been participating in these round-robins since they began a few months ago, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them while learning a lot from Paul. These sessions have provided a great opportunity to meet other club members while improving my tennis. I believe these sessions have been a fantastic addition to the tennis activities at BGCC, and I look forward to participating in future sessions.

MIXED HOUSE LEAGUE

CRAIG MARTIN:
The Summer season of this year’s mixed house league was great fun! We had three courts every week, the matches were competitive, and a lot of good laughs were shared on the court! After the matches the group would enjoy a drink and conversation as we all got to know one another better!

INTERCLUB TEAMS

It is very important for Bayview to have teams participating in leagues across all levels, from juniors to adults. League play builds a strong sense of community and camaraderie among members, enhancing our club’s social environment and building lasting relationships. By participating in leagues, members, both adults and juniors, come together to support their teams and share experiences, which is crucial for creating a vibrant, positive, and engaging club culture. This sense of community strengthens member connections and contributes significantly to our club’s overall social and competitive goals.

A2 TEAM CAPTAIN: MILAGRO WASSEF
It has been another successful season for Bayview's B1 Spring Team. The season was a tight contest, and it came down to the final week of matches to determine the final standings. Bayview battled and ended the season with a clean sweep against Toronto Lawn. As a result, we finished in first place and will be promoted to A2 division next year.

B4 TEAM CAPTAIN

DIANE KRIKSCIUNAS:
The TLTL BGCC Ladies' Team had a successful season after being promoted from B5 to B4 Division last year. Our Ladies enjoyed the new challenges, and we ended up in 4th place overall. Our strong camaraderie and team spirit made for fun Monday nights of competitive tennis.

C1 TEAM CO-CAPTAIN

KATY MCKEOWN:
The Bayview Ladies C2 Team had a solid season and went into the final week’s match needing the overall win to end the season at the top of the division. As had been true all season, the ladies played hard and fought until the last point was played. Ending the season winners of the C2 division.

RECREATIONAL SUMMER CAMP

ANA I. YEONG:
Hi Armita,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the incredible experience our kids had at summer camp this year. Your kind and warm approach made a significant impact on them. Your cheerful demeanor and enthusiasm for tennis made them feel immediately welcomed and at ease.
The positive environment you created improved their tennis skills and boosted their confidence and love for the sport. We truly appreciate the effort you put into making the camp enjoyable and memorable.
Thank you once again for being such an excellent teacher. We look forward to more fun and learning in the future.

COMPETITIVE CAMP

* MIRANDA ZHANG - My favorite part of tennis camp was training with my friend and having fun, plus coach Brett was awesome

* ISABELLE POWER - My favorite part of camp so far is meeting new people! I have also improved my skills with Coach Brett.

* MAYA MOKHA - My favorite part about camp has been all the fun activities we've done!

* MATIAS VELASCO - What I liked most was learning the proper grip for forehand and backhand.

* ARYA MOKHA - My favorite part of camp is improving my skills and getting to know my teammates.

PICKLEBALL

CARA MALEN:
I had so much fun playing in the pickleball Dinks and Drinks mixer with a fantastic guest instructor. We picked up lots of tips on the game, and of course, The Drinks were a welcome highlight at the end of an intensive 90-minute class. Additionally, I really look forward to my weekly Wednesday round-robin group. It's a great mix of players, and seeing them each week is always fun!

NEW FOR PICKLEBALL THIS FALL

Court Booking: Starting in October, Pickleball players can book courts 7 days in advance, more opportunities to enjoy the fastest-growing racquet sport.
NEW: Weekly Pickleball Round Robin: Join us every Sunday from 4-6 pm for a Pickleball Round Robin. All levels are welcome!
Junior Pickleball Programs: We’re now offering Pickleball programs for 8-12-year-olds and teens.
Pickleball Indoor Opener: Join us as we kick off the indoor season with this fun event for all levels of Pickleball players! The event will include: Learn to Play clinic, Round-Robin, Play Against the Pros, followed by dinner .
Certified Coaches: All members of our racquet team have recently completed Pickleball certification and are ready to coach players of all levels.
