DISCONNECT TO CONNECT

The Club is a great way to spend time with your loved ones while doing something physically active whether it be on the golf course, playing tennis or pickleball, enjoying the pool, working out together in the gym and of course, dining together as a family.  So why do we see so many people with their heads down madly typing or swiping?  There are so many benefits of disconnecting!

Quality Time: When phones are put away, family members are more likely to engage in meaningful face-to-face interactions. This quality time helps strengthen bonds and build deeper connections.

Improved Communication: Being present without distractions means conversations can be more engaging and attentive. This leads to better understanding and communication between family members.

Reduced Conflict: Phones can sometimes be a source of irritation or conflict, especially if they disrupt conversations or activities. By minimizing phone use, families can reduce these sources of tension and foster a more harmonious environment.

Increased Engagement: Without the constant lure of notifications and social media, family members are more likely to participate in activities together, whether it's playing games, sharing meals, or simply enjoying each other's company.

Enhanced Presence: Being fully present in the moment, rather than being preoccupied with phone screens, helps everyone feel valued and acknowledged. This presence is crucial for building strong, supportive relationships.

Setting an Example: By consciously disconnecting from phones, parents and caregivers set a positive example for younger family members, demonstrating the importance of balancing technology use with real-life interactions.

Strengthened Emotional Bonds: Shared experiences without digital interruptions create lasting memories and reinforce emotional connections, making relationships more resilient and fulfilling.

Overall, taking breaks from phone use allows families and our ‘Bayview Family’ to reconnect on a deeper level, fostering stronger and more supportive relationships.  So put those phones down and get back to CONNECTING live.
